Reverse searing the tomahawk steak
  • Butter a large, shallow oven tray and preheat oven to 120 degrees.
  • Check the steak after 30 minutes. To ensure that the steak has reached your preferred doneness, check the internal temperature.
  • Rare = 50 degrees
  • Medium rare = 52-53 degrees
  • Medium = 55 degrees
  • Preheat a skillet to high heat, add more butter, and place the tomahawk steak directly from the oven. Sear on both sides for 4 minutes
  • Add minced garlic, a couple of whole smashed garlic cloves, and the rosemary and thyme. Braise the tomahawk steak for another couple of minutes making sure to flip halfway through.
  • Let steak rest for 5-10 minutes before serving to ensure that juices lost through cooking can sink back into the steak. Bon appétit!
