How to Cook Juicy BBQ Beef Foreribs

Create Juicy BBQ Beef Foreribs with Meatse
Prep time: 1 hour
Cook time: 2 hours 30 mins
Servings: 6-8

  1. 2.5 kg beef for ribs
  2. yellow mustard (acting as a binder for seasoning the beef for ribs)
  3. preferred BBQ sauce
  4. 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  5. 1 heaped teaspoon onion powder
  6. 1 heaped teaspoon Garlic powder
  7. 1 heaped teaspoon Chili powder
  8. 2 teaspoons paprika
  9. ½ teaspoon cayenne powder
  10. 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  11. salt (to taste)

Preparing the beef for ribs

  • Take the beef fore ribs out of the fridge and leave them to rest at room temperature for 1 hour. Put in an oven tray, coat in an even layer of mustard on both sides and grind spices with a mortar and pestle, or an electric grinder. Apply seasoning making sure to rub them in so they are evenly distributed and saturate the beef foreribs with flavour.

Roasting the fore ribs

  • Preheat oven to 150 degrees (fan oven) or 180. You do not want to have the temperature too high to ensure they keep their juiciness.
  • Cover the beef fore ribs first with a layer of baking paper and then wrap the tray with aluminum foil to completely seal it off.
  • Put into the oven and leave them for about 2 hours and 30 mins.
  • Take the beef fore ribs out of the oven, cover one side in a generous layer of BBQ sauce and put them back into the oven, letting them broil for a few minutes.

Enjoying the beef for ribs
Once out of the oven, the beef foreribs can be enjoyed on their own, or with your favourite side. Bon appétit!
